Four boys

The Story:
I have created a series of portraits of boys on the threshold of becoming young men. As sexual and art object, woman has dominated art for centuries with male artists possessing the right to define beauty and the sexualised object as represented by the young woman’s form.
My portraits of boys have a fascinating and almost disturbing effect on the viewer. There is something almost taboo about putting young men in a position that sensualises and objectifies them, casting a kind of sexualised gaze at their youth and favouring them as objects.
